Mia stood next to her caretaker, a scientist who monitored her food intakes and mental health as she was led to an unfamiliar part of the facility. Standing there was another scientist and a boy just slightly taller than her, once they stopped she cocked her head to the side in a bird like gesture. She hadn’t seen many other children, and most of the ones she had were “FAILED” so they were always on the way to the scrap house when she saw them.
“This is the MIA project.” Her scientist told the other who nodded before responding.
